Due to the age of my machine, I haven't bought a new (modern) game for my PC for quite a while. So although I've owned it since early 1998, I'm still playing StarCraft, with the expansion pack Brood War. It's the sort of game you can return to after a while away, to see if you can complete it any faster than you did last time. I play it on-line for the most part, as it's very straightforward to do so. The strategy guides for the various races presented here have on-line play in mind, but are of some relevance for playing the campaign games in single player mode. The other good thing about it is that many British people play it on line, even now, so it is possible to form alliances which last. More on the game itself in the overview section.
